Ugly Pants Scramble to benefit Goodwill Industries 

Montague, Michigan – Old Channel Trail Golf Course is hosting its Second Annual 
Ugly Pants Scramble on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at noon. The four-person, 9-hole golf 
scramble is a fundraiser and donation drive for Goodwill Industries of West 
Michigan. Celebrity judges Muskegon Chronicle columnist Susan Treutler and Star 
108 radio personality Britta Cleveland, as well as last year’s “Ugliest Pants” 
winner and Goodwill Board Member Ed Hunt, will be on hand to award prizes for 
good golf and bad pants.

The event starts at noon with an informal lunch followed by an “Un-fashion Show” 
for players to strut their stuff. The scramble begins at 1:00 p.m. with a 
shotgun start and wraps up at 3:00 p.m. with awards and prizes. The event will 
also feature a small silent auction of donated items. 

Additionally, anyone visiting the course can drop off donations of gently used 
clothing and other household items to benefit Goodwill at the OCT Pro Shop from 
Monday, April 18 through the day of the event. Persons donating a bag of items 
will receive a certificate good for a bucket of range balls.

“We’re happy to support Goodwill and their mission of helping people get jobs in 
our community,” said Old Channel Trail Director of Operations, Bill Leeke. “It’s 
also a fun way to remind people to clean out their closets and donate to 
Goodwill.” 

“We appreciate the support of Old Channel Trail Gold Course with this really fun 
event,” said Goodwill President Richard Carlson. 

Cost for the event is $120 for a foursome. Proceeds benefit Goodwill Industries 
of West Michigan.
